Jimoria McLeod

Divorce and Family Law Attorney

I am a first-generation graduate and native of Belle Glade, Florida. When I am not working to assist clients with achieving their goals, I can generally be found with a book (or kindle) in my hand. If I am not reading, I am partaking in one or more of my hobbies—baking, knitting, singing, or experimenting with new recipes.

While attending undergrad at The University of Florida—“Go Gators”—I obtained my bachelor’s degree in English, and I went on to obtain my law degree from The Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law (FAMU) in Orlando, FL.

Prior to starting at Bruce Law, I primarily practiced family law in central and south Florida.

One of the many things that drew me to Bruce Law Firm was their clear commitment to help people achieve the best life.

I consider family law as a subset of law in which you can truly make an impact on someone’s life. When attending law school there was never a question in my mind regarding the type of law I would practice, it was always family law for me.

Growing up, I got to witness and experience firsthand some of the ramifications court proceedings could have on minor children and families. When I was four years old my aunt passed away in a car accident, leaving behind one child.

Naturally, the question of who would care for my cousin became an issue.

There were multiple court proceedings, and several lawyers involved throughout this process, however, it became readily apparent to me that the adults lost sight of what was truly important—the best
interest of my cousin.

From there, I made a promise to always advocate and be a voice for those that do not have one.
