I was born in Manhattan in New York City where I lived until I was two. Thereafter, my mother and I moved to Anchorage, Alaska and then on to Boca Raton, Florida where I attended elementary school through college. After graduating from Florida Atlantic University with a bachelor’s degree in business management, I applied to law school with the expectation that I would pursue business law. I attended St. Thomas University School of Law on a partial scholarship and graduated early within 2 ½ years with my juris doctorate in 2005.
While attending law school I clerked for Judge Victoria Platzer in the family division in Miami-Dade County. It was during my experience clerking for Judge Platzer I discovered my passion for family law which has remained with me for my entire career. I enjoyed being in the courtroom and found that advocating for clients going through challenging times in their lives to be extremely rewarding. I also enjoyed the financial and business law aspect which accompanies family law and divorce cases.
While in law school I met my now Husband. The day after taking the Florida Bar Exam in July 2005, my Husband and I moved to Chicago, Illinois wherein we lived in Wrigleyville on the North Side of Chicago. My Husband attended DePaul law school and business school. I took the Illinois Bar in February 2006 and began working for a prestigious family law firm in Chicago thereafter. In the evenings I attended Chicago-Kent School of Law wherein I received my Masters of Law in Family Law (LL.M.) and achieved the highest grades in several subjects including Family Law Trial Advocacy.
Approximately five years thereafter my Husband and I, longing for warmer weather, returned to South Florida where we have lived since 2010.In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family (including my beloved mutt Dexter), the beach and practicing hot yoga.
I have been practicing divorce and family law exclusively for the last 13 years. I devote my time, energy, and efforts toward providing effective solutions to clients dealing with complex legal problems. I strive to assist my clients in reaching amicable resolutions, but I am also a family law litigator that does not shy away from a fight when court intervention becomes necessary.
I primarily represent clients in high net worth and complex divorces, premarital agreements and modification actions. I am currently serving clients primarily in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade County and I often consult on cases which also have an Illinois law aspect.
